ok....so I'm definitely going to be working at the 18th St. Art Center, and I start on Monday. I'm not going to lie.... at first I was a bit concerned because I didn't know exactly what the internship would entail....and I also didn't know how would it exactly benefit me...but after the meeting Carolina and I had last Monday, it looks like it is going to be a reeeeeeeeally good opportunity. I start off by working with Linda Pollack, which I'm excited about. I have decided that for my SRP I'm goign to cocentrate on doing research on each of the artists that I will be working with to really know what their work is about.
This will be good to see the process in which a show or exhibit is created...
Oh yeah...and this past Thursday night I FINALLY got in contact with Judy from SPARC. I went to their dia de los muertos celebration and I talked to her...I'm goign to try to meet with her sometime this monthand have a meeting, and go over my proposal with her, to look into a possible collarboration between SPARC and 18th St?? If not I already talked to her about going to help out their, and if not this quarter, definitely next quarter as part of my Chicano/a Studies 100SL class.
All in all, everything is starting to sort itself out...
Carolina....thanks again for having that meeting on Monday with 18th St. with me!!!
